For many years, guests knew our small family homestay in Senggigi as Anggrek Putih Homestay. It grew alongside our home, tropical garden and cooking class, welcoming travelers from around the world who wanted something more personal than a typical hotel stay.

Today, the homestay has a new name: Daphne Homestay.

The change is not because the place or the family behind it has changed. In fact, the reason is much more personal. Daphne is the name of our daughter, and we wanted our homestay to carry a name that represents the family story behind this place.

Anggrek Putih continues as our Lombok Cooking Class & Garden Tour, while Daphne Homestay now has its own identity. Guests can stay with us, wake up surrounded by our tropical garden, enjoy breakfast, and if they wish, experience Indonesian and Lombok food through our cooking class right here on the property.

For us, hospitality has never been only about providing a room. We want visitors to feel a little closer to everyday life in Lombok — to meet local people, discover the ingredients growing in our garden, taste local food and have a comfortable home base while exploring the island.

Why We Chose the Name Daphne?

Daphne Homestay is named after our daughter, making the new name very special to our family. We wanted the homestay to have its own identity while keeping the warm, personal hospitality that our guests have known for years.

Although the name has changed from Anggrek Putih Homestay to Daphne Homestay, the heart of the place remains the same — the same family, the same tropical garden, and the same relaxed atmosphere in Senggigi, Lombok.

What Has Changed — and What Hasn’t

The name may be new, but the experience our guests love remains the same. Daphne Homestay is still in the same peaceful location in Senggigi, surrounded by the tropical garden of Anggrek Putih.

Guests can enjoy comfortable air-conditioned rooms, Wi-Fi and breakfast, with the personal atmosphere of a small family-run homestay.

What has changed is simply the identity: Daphne Homestay is now the name of our accommodation, while Anggrek Putih continues as our Lombok Cooking Class & Garden Tour. Both experiences remain together in the same place.

You don’t have to stay with us to join the cooking class, and you don’t have to take a cooking class to stay at Daphne Homestay. But for travelers who want both, it is an easy way to combine accommodation with a memorable local food experience in one place.
